MCD “Le Bal des Eternels” Reviews
"FAIRLIGHT : Le Bal Des Eternels (Self released, 49'02', 7 tracks, melodic death-metal) : I listened this demo when it was distributed by the French rip off label Thunder Productions and after big problems of this label, Fairlight decided to re-release this demo themselves. With this first step, the French band includes 2 new studio songs with an unreleased track and a Megadeth cover song. I think it is an excellent idea because we see the musical evolution between the demo under the CD format released in 1997 and the new songs. For those who don't know the band, Fairlight plays in a death-metal music with tons of melodies and some atmospheric passages, maybe a kind of Amorphis French band with more melodies and with heavier passages. Between the old songs and the 2 new studio tracks, we feel a little evolution 'cause the band diversifies its approach with the use of more atmospheres, less death-metal influences and with a better production giving to the unreleased song an excellent omen for the future. We are waiting others new compositions..." (9/10) (DARK WAVE RADIO)
